“About you for you”

Oasis Network: A space for wellbeing and recovery.

Who are we?

We are a mental health and addictions support service that provides Peer Support, Advocacy and Education to people who live or work in the Hutt Valley or the Wairarapa, who self-identify as having experience of mental distress, illness and/or addictions.

We also provide Emergency Housing to anyone experiencing homelessness.

What do we do?

We support YOU to achieve your goals and access what you need in life to be well, happy and healthy.

Our staff have a wealth of knowledge and can help you understand your rights, support you to achieve your goals and provide a safe, recovery focussed space for you to learn and up-skill yourself.

It’s up to you how you want to engage with us, perhaps you need a one-off referral to another support service, or maybe you need an advocate to support you at Work and Income. One-off or short term support is something we provide, BUT if you need long term recovery support we can also help!

At Oasis Network we have opportunities for you to attend groups, participate in goal planning and achievement, access our food bank, provide you with volunteer opportunities and we have a strong network of members who regularly support and nurture each other, including running a members meeting once a fortnight.

  1. Does oasis operate in Christchurch as it does here please? I have a friend there struggling and wondered if there may be support for her. I am in the Hutt Valley.
Also she has convinced herself that she is labelled as having a ‘mental illness’ so will be treated differently. She is on medication. Is this true from what you see in your work?
    Thank you,

    • Greetings Inez Conway – Hope you are keeping warm in this weather. Unfortunately we do not have a service in Christchurch, we only provide our services in the Hutt Valley and Wairarapa region. However, we know many good people and organisations In Christchurch that may be able to provide your friend with some support – if you would like this information please feel free to drop by and we can discuss over coffee or give us a call on 5661601\

  2. Hey I am so thrilled I found your blog, I really found you
by error, while I was researching on Digg for something else,

and a all round interesting blog (I also love
the theme/design), I don’t have time to go through it
all at the moment but I have saved it and also included your RSS feeds, so when I
have time I will be back to read a great deal more, Please do keep
    up the excellent job.

  3. I find\think\belive\consider your blog very interesting. I also run\write\make\record a blog about aquarium plants, pond plants, bonsai trees, succulents, orchids and plants for terrarium. I think it’s great to share with our thoughts and experience. You can visit my blog.

  4. You are so awesome! I don’t suppose I have read through something like this
before. So great to discover another person with some genuine thoughts on this topic.
